Setting Standards For Cleaning Green
It's Time To Go Green
Increasing concern over indoor air quality, water pollution, hazardous waste,
and worker safety has fueled interest and demand for green products. The move
toward green products gained strength in September of 1998 when an Executive
Order (#13101) was issued requiring all federal procurement officials to follow
the Federal Acquisition Regulation to assess and give preference to those
products and services that are environmentally preferable. The Executive Order
defined environmentally preferable as "products or services that have a
lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared with
competing products or services that serve the same purpose..."
Since that time, the development of EPA standards for environmentally
preferable products, the creation of standards by the International Standards
Organization, and ecolabeling guidelines developed by the Global Ecolabeling
Network have laid the groundwork for qualifying green maintenance products.
Cleaning Green Without Sacrifice
Green products are formulated to lessen their impact on your cleaning staff and
the environment by replacing key ingredients with environmentally friendly ones.
The catch with green products has always been their perceived performance.

Green Cleaners That Excel
Super Shine-All® #140 The legendary cleaner that's been a leader for
over 80 years. Its concentrated, neutral pH formula removes dirt and grime
without harming your floor finish. It is perfect for cleaning resilient tile,
asphalt tile, vinyl floors, synthetic floors, terrazzo, quarry tile, paver
brick, natural stone, and coated wood floors. Shine-All cleans deep and provides
a protective sheen to help preserve and protect polishes and waxes, extending
the interval between recoats. It is the cleaner of choice for damp mopping and
auto scrubbing. Super Shine-All is certified by Green Seal to their GS-37
standard and is also available in the Arsenal® line of ready to dispense
products, item #808.
Green Select™ Glass Cleaner #960 A quality glass and window
cleaner formulated to minimize the impact on the environment, reduce the risk to
human health and, at the same time, improve worker safety. It is non-toxic,
non-flammable, phosphate free, biodegradable, and has been formulated without
dyes, fragrances, or hazardous ingredients(1). Green Select Glass Cleaner will
clean windows, TV screens, porcelain, plastic, counter tops, restroom fixtures,
and stainless steel. Works well as an all purpose spray cleaner for any surface
not harmed by water. Green Select Glass Cleaner uses a unique combination of
environmentally preferred surfactants instead of harmful solvents. Formulated to
be effective in cold water for added energy savings. Also available in the

Green Select™ Degreaser Cleaner #961 Green Select Degreaser
Cleaner is the environmentally friendly way to clean walls, kitchen floors,
resilient tile, tables, and machinery. Its concentrated, heavy-duty formula is
designed to remove tough, greasy soil from any surface not harmed by water.
Green Select Degreaser Cleaner maximizes cleaning efficiency through a unique
combination of environmentally preferred surfactants. It is formulated to be
non-toxic, phosphate free, non-flammable, and biodegradable, with no dyes,
fragrances, or hazardous ingredients(1). Available in the Arsenal line of ready
to dispense products, item #828.
Green Select™ Bathroom Cleaner #962 The non-toxic, non-flammable,
phosphate free, biodegradable restroom cleaner that has been formulated without
dyes, fragrances, or hazardous ingredients(1). Deep cleaning organic acid
formula removes soap film and hard water deposits from ceramic tile, porcelain,
sinks, toilet bowls, urinals, fiberglass, plastic, chrome, showers, and bathroom
surfaces. No phosphates or hazardous acids means lower environmental impact and
safer to use. Green Select Bathroom Cleaner cleans toilet bowls by applying a
small amount to a bowl swab, or spray and wipe on sinks to remove hard water

Green Up Restrooms And Showers
Re-Juv-Nal® #166 A concentrated, hospital grade
disinfectant/detergent cleaner, sanitizer, fungicide, mildewstat, virucide,
deodorizer that cleans and controls the hazard of cross-contamination from
environmental surfaces. Re-Juv-Nal is adapted especially for use on floors,
walls, and other hard surfaces where broad spectrum control is important. It is
also perfect for disinfecting and cleaning restroom and shower walls, toilets,
urinals, sinks, and partitions. Re-Juv-Nal's special neutral pH formula is
designed to clean your floors without damaging the floor finish. Also available

Citric Extra Strength CSP Cleaner #126 Effective, versatile, citric
acid cleaner clings to both horizontal and vertical surfaces and delivers
superior cleaning action. Removes hard water spots, soap film, rust, and oily
residue with ease. Cleans a wide variety of surfaces including ceramic,
stainless steel, and porcelain. Citric Extra Strength CSP is phosphate and
ammonia free, plus it is non-corrosive, non-combustible, non-flammable, and
non-carcinogenic.
Citric Shower Foam® #146 Uses a unique citric acid formula to
quickly dissolve away the weekly buildup of hard water deposits and soap film
from shower walls and floors without scrubbing. Just spray it on...high-foaming
formula clings to vertical surfaces while it attacks soap film and hard water
deposits. Its foaming action is extremely effective in hard-to-reach areas.
Citric Shower Foam can be used on ceramic tile walls and floors, bathroom
fixtures, faucets and fittings, shower heads and stalls, drinking fountains,
swimming pool walls, concrete, and stainless steel.
Liquid Enzyme II #470 Live, bacterial suspension contains a minimum
of 255 billion active bacteria per gallon that dissolve grease, fats, proteins,
and carbohydrates. Treats sink drains, wash basins, shower stalls, and refuse
containers. Digests grease and waste nature's way with no environmental harm.
Deodorizes instantly as well as long-term by eliminating the source of the
problem. Removes uric acid odor. Non-acidic, non-caustic, and contains no
solvents. Can be used in septic tanks, recreational vehicles, porta-toilets and

Environmentally Conscious Floor Care
One-Plus® #527 A new-generation, zinc-free, high solids floor
polish formulated for durability, ease of use, and a deep gloss. One Plus will
give your floors a tough and durable shine that will stand up to scuffing,
scratching, and black heel marks...even in high traffic areas. Perfect for
resilient and hard surface floors in schools, offices, hospitals, and malls.
Formulated to be ''stackable'' with excellent detergent resistance. Excellent
removability properties means less labor costs and a reduction in possible
damage to your floors from harsh, alkaline strippers. Can be spray buffed or
high speed burnished for extended coating life and shine. Classified by

Hil-Tex® + #344 The zinc-free, transparent, fast-drying,
seal/undercoater
provides a smooth, tough base that helps polishes form an unbroken surface film
for longer polish wear properties. Quick drying Hil-Tex+ is an extremely clear
seal that highlights the original color of your floor while it provides
resistance to grease, oil, detergents, and ultraviolet rays. Formulated for
resilient tile, asphalt tile, paver brick, porous Mexican tile, concrete,
terrazzo, and almost any sealable floor. Classified by Underwriters
Laboratories, Inc.® as to slip resistance, 186S.
Terrazzine® #338 A zinc-free, transparent, fast drying
seal/finish
formulated for porous masonry floors like terrazzo and Saltillo tile. Terrazzine
is tolerant of cold floors where conventional seals will not stand up. It can be
applied to cold masonry floors (50° F or higher). Its fast drying formula is
perfect for grocery store aisles in the frozen food section or entrance areas in
commercial buildings where cold weather can play havoc with ordinary seals.

Super Hil-Brite® #500 The premium self-polishing, water emulsion
wax made of 100% prime carnauba; the hardest, toughest natural wax known.
Durable, No. 1 prime carnauba wax provides Super Hil-Brite with excellent
resistance to problem heel marks. It delivers a deep, lustrous shine that buffs
back easily...even after years of repeated wear and cleaning. Easy to apply with
a synthetic mop in a wide variety of facilities including schools, offices,
churches, hotels, retail outlets, and restaurants. Classified by Underwriters

Naturally Better Wood & Carpet Care
Contender® Gym Finish #279 Epoxy-based formula offers significant
advantages over the conventional water-based urethane finishes, including
ease-of-application, higher gloss, and unsurpassed durability. Delivers
performance equal to the best solvent-based coatings on the market. Provides the
toughness, abrasion resistance, and durability necessary to stand up to the
heaviest of traffic and tournament play. Maintains clean air quality with a VOC
value of less than 350 grams per liter. Compatible over a wide variety of
conventional solvent-based epoxies and oil-modified urethanes, provided these
coatings are cured and bonded and the floor is properly prepared. Classified by
Underwriters Labs, Inc.® as to slip resistance, 186S, and approved by the Maple
Flooring Manufacturers Association (MFMA).
Tip-Off® Gym Finish #282 The ready to use, easy to apply, VOC
compliant wood gym finish that delivers beautiful results. No mixing, no
stirring, or complicated application. Tip-Off provides a quick, beautiful,
water-based solution to wood gym floor care without using polyfunctional
aziridine, and it has a VOC value of less than 250 grams per liter. Compatible
over a wide variety of conventional solvent-based and water-based coatings,
provided these coatings are cured, bonded, and the floor is properly prepared.

Unscented Clean Action® II #922 A high-quality, concentrated,
low-foaming carpet extraction cleaner. It is specially formulated to deliver

residue to dull colors and attract unwanted dirt. The 1:128 dilution rate
delivers optimum cleaning power at a low cost. Safe for use on Advanced 5th
Generation Stain Resistant carpets. Unscented Clean Action II is biodegradable,
non-flammable, non-combustible, and has a neutral pH.
Unscented Deep Action® II #921 Delivers outstanding cleaning using
bonnet carpet cleaning systems. Ideal for spotting, intermediate cleaning, and
complete renovation of carpets. Works quickly to emulsify dirt and soil, lifting
them to the surface for easy removal. Deodorizes to help overcome odors from
pets, smoke and mustiness. Unscented Deep Action II is biodegradable,
non-flammable, non-combustible, and has a neutral pH. Safe for use on Advanced
5th Generation Stain Resistant carpets.
